GAP goes for our emission-free and low-emission lighting towers

The largest independent hire company in the UK, GAP Hire Solutions, is helping customers reduce their emissions with the purchase of our latest lighting towers.

Prompted by customer demand, environmental benefits, and low operational costs, GAP has confirmed its commitment to offering sustainable alternatives to fossil-fuel-powered machinery by investing in a substantial fleet of sustainable site lighting equipment. This investment is made up of over 300 of our X-Solar Hybrid, X-ECO-Hybrid, and X-ECO-Battery-powered lighting towers. The total value of the order is over £5m.

GAP currently has more than 2,000 of our lighting sets available to hire for a variety of applications throughout the UK, including major infrastructure projects and centrally based works in cities.

Each year GAP reviews its tower light requirements, and once again, selected us as the principal supplier of lighting towers, citing our product quality, brand recognition, and sustainable product offering. GAP’s clients also value the robust quality of our sets, alongside ease of set-up and operation.

GAP LightsCommenting on this latest order, James Anderson, GAP’s Head of Asset Management and Supply Chain said, “We have had more requests from our customers across all sectors as they look to move towards more sustainable equipment which has led to this recent purchase. This has meant that each year we have seen the share of more environmentally friendly lights increasing year-on-year which led to our decision to purchase the X-Solar Hybrid, X-Hybrid, and X-Battery this year. Our depots have been highlighting the features and benefits that solar, hybrid, and battery tower lights offer over diesel sets with fuel savings, reduced emissions, and noise on-site”

“Trime has always been very proactive in assisting GAP with any requests or projects and we’ve worked in partnership for many years. In particular, they have been actively offering training to our depot fitters on these new products and they have supported training and demonstrations with our customers to show the advantages their lights have to offer so they can maximise the benefits while hiring these lighting towers,” added James.

The Trime X-Battery set operates entirely emission-free, and for 80% of the operation, the X-Hybrid is powered exclusively by its batteries and therefore emits zero noise and zero carbon emissions. The X-Solar Hybrid is powered by a combination of solar panels and a fuel-efficient diesel engine, and for long periods delivers noise-free, emission-free site lighting.
