X and the City - CW Plant go for the X-CITY lighting tower
Charles Wilson Engineers (CW Plant) have expanded their hire fleet of X-ECO LED lighting towers with the recent purchase of a further 100 sets
Their fleet now encompasses 650 X-ECOs, distributed throughout their nationwide network of 18 depots.
In addition to the purchase of the X-ECO LED, CW Plant has invested in our new innovation, the X-CITY lighting tower.
The X-CITY is a highly compact LED lighting tower ideally suited for providing safe, energy saving illumination in areas where space is at a premium. The X-CITY features a 5.5m vertical mask with four 150watt, multi directionally adjustable and angled lamps. Power is from a single-cylinder diesel engine and up to 30 X-CITY sets can be loaded on a single truck. A unique feature of the X-CITY is the ability to link together up to four sets and power all four from one source. This helps to save fuel and reduce energy wastage.
Graham Pollard, CW Plant Director, said, “The Trime X-ECO lighting tower is now the mainstay of our lighting rental fleet, however, we have had enquiries for a lighting set that will working in confined areas. Consequently, we invited Trime to carry out a demonstration of their X-CITY product.”
“We were immediately impressed with the compactness of the X-CITY and its energy saving attributes. We have purchased ten of these sets and we will monitor their performance over the winter months,” added Graham.
Charles Wilson Engineers began trading in Harpenden, Hertfordshire in 1979 and the company remains a privately owned rental business. They offer a plant hire and tool hire service in London and all across the South East, South West, the Midlands, North West and a new depot in Newcastle in the North East. CW Plant also provides PASMA and IPAF training, alongside a comprehensive line of forklift and manual handing courses.
