Climate change is on the top of global agendas and circular strategies including the reduction of carbon through meaningful new approaches to processes such as supply chain management are helping to form a new way of thinking….
The 2021 Circularity Gap Report state that circular economy strategies can cut global greenhouse gas emissions by 39%, will also keep our planet below a 2oC trajectory and increase the proportion of materials that are reused from 8.6% to 17%. Notably, the European Union’s Circular Economy Action Plan is an important part of the European Green Deal’s roadmap for becoming the first zero emissions continent by 2050.
According to the The Ellen MacAruthur Foundation, The Circular Economy is an economy that is restorative and regenerative by design. In a circular economy activity builds and rebuilds overall system health. The concept recognises the importance of the economy needing to work effectively at all scales – for all size businesses, for organisations and individually, globally and locally.
Reaching a true Circular Economy demands a comprehensive method to resource efficiency – this means not only addressing the use of raw materials but also alternative energy sources. Viable renewable alternatives to fossil fuels include solar and wind energy which are helping to pave the way to a sustainable future.
For our industry Solar and Hybrid technologies are now actively in use and in many cases ‘the standard’ across many hire companies. This technology come in numerous different guises from Lighting Towers to Excavators and this shift is not only protecting our environment but by reducing our dependence on fossil fuels could be actively improving our environment.
Could all hire firms and their clients soon have access to fossil fuel free construction machinery?
This is the proposition we are putting forward with our exciting new initiative, T-ZERO PRO. In line with some leading car manufacturers, we have begun to phase out fossil-fuel equipment and, by 2025, only offer emission-free machinery.
Following on from the success of our X-ECO Lighting Tower, we began engineering a complete range of sustainable lighting towers each combining energy-saving, emission-reducing features. We now have an extensive line of battery-hybrid, solar-hybrid and solar-only lighting towers.
